The Phoenix Foundation are embarking on their first nationwide tour since 2007. A new album from some of Wellington’s best musicians isn’t too far away either. Golden Bay (April 14), Nelson (April 15), Christchurch (April 16), Queenstown (April 17), Dunedin (April 18), Oamaru (April 19), Wellington (May 1), Napier (May 2), Auckand (May 8) and Leigh (May 9).

North Harbour Stadium is hosting a free one day all-ages event. Featuring X-Games events (FMX, BMX, Mountain Biking and Wake Boarding) and music from the likes of Luger Boa, Clap Clap Riot, Quarter 2 and The Twitch, there are also plenty of prizes and plenty of fun for the family.

» SummerSet 09, Sat April 18 (Wellington)
The Basin Reserve is hosting the annual all-day music festival. This year is as big as usual, and features music from midday to midnight. The artists confirmed include Fat Freddy’s Drop, DJ Nick Warren (UK), The Nextmen (UK), MC P Digsss, DJ Lynx and MC Kemo, Bass Kleph (Aus), Hollie Smith, Charlie Ash and Pitch Black.

Aussie dance-pop exponents are selling out wherever they seem to go, and they’re pretty massive in the Australian pop and club scenes. They play four shows in New Zealand, and showcase their utopian party to New Zealand audiences, just months after their well-received BDO performance.
