Born in Wellington, Aotearoa, with whakapapa back to Guangdong Province, China, I’m equal parts writer and multidisciplinary designer, with more than 15 years experience – and when time (and funding) allows, a filmmaker, too.
I’m mostly based in Auckland.
What I Do
As a full-time arts professional, I’ve worked with Auckland Arts Festival and the New Zealand International Film Festival since 2016.
In both these roles I lead design, manage brand and publications, write ad copy and programme materials, and create marketing content across print, digital and video platforms.
Between 2003–2016, I was founding editor of The Lumière Reader. Publishing film criticism, arts journalism and digital documentaries, the online journal was one of New Zealand’s first and longest-running arts and culture websites.
